Herbie finds his voice!

Did we mention that Herbie seems to be part-hound? He has become quite the talker, and is very vocal. He lets Foster Mom know how happy he is to be warm and safe with a special place on the couch reserved just for him. He also speaks up when one of his temporary canine siblings gets to go out for a walk - he so wants to join them but not quite yet.

The Vet performed a "joint tap" on Herbie's front right leg on Thursday, March 11 to check for infection because the joint still feels warm to the touch. So Herbie is now on a round of antibiotics, awaiting the results from the Vet on Monday.

The best news is that Herbie's injuries on his face and back of his neck are healing well! His hair is growing back in nicely. Foster Mom attributes this to the twice-daily application of Bag Balm and Emu oil. According to Foster Mom, this may be the secret fountain of youth but for now she recommends it for canine use only. And add "The Herbster" as a new nickname for this very happy, friendly dog. Lucky to have been rescued and letting us know how thankful he is.

Your support for Herbie is truly helping him heal!
